Dr. Freddy J. Carreras Alvarado

As a dual board-certified psychiatrist in Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry, Dr. Freddy J. Carreras Alvarado brings extensive clinical experience and a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to mental health and substance use treatment.

Dr. Freddy J. Carreras Alvarado earned their medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus, completed their Psychiatry residency at Tufts Medical Center, and pursued fellowship training in Addiction Psychiatry through the UCLA/VA Greater Los Angeles program.

Their experience spans a variety of clinical settings, including outpatient, intensive outpatient, residential, and inpatient levels of care. This diverse background informs a comprehensive approach to treating a wide range of psychiatric and substance use disorders, with a focus on delivering evidence-based treatment.

Outside of his clinical work, he enjoys spending quality time with his family, and keeping up with Formula 1 racing. He is also passionate about technology.
